Extension and remodel of living accommodation to detached house. Below we have taken extracts from a typical planning applications to show how a brief can develop from an existing footprint of a house. The brief was to create an open plan living area and connections between kitchen and dining room

Wc / utility space has been relocated to recess in kitchen, allowing the removal of the original wc to enable the kitchen to connect to the dining room. New glazed kitchen door off the hall to give full impact of space when entering room.
Elevation proposed rear extension of the house showing how the pitched roof extension fits in with the geometry. The restriction was the first floor bedroom window. The extension was designed with a flying corner to allow the family room direct level access to the garden.
